Our guillotine dampers provide complete shut-off of airflow — essential for maintenance isolation, safety lock-out, and process control in large-scale industrial duct systems.
A guillotine damper (also called a gate damper or slide damper) uses a flat blade that slides vertically into the duct cross-section to completely block airflow. Unlike butterfly or louver dampers, a guillotine provides near 100% isolation — making it the preferred choice for man-safe isolation, maintenance shut-off, and situations requiring bubble-tight sealing.
Hand-operated with a rack and pinion or screw mechanism. Used where operation is infrequent — maintenance isolation, bypass isolation, or stack isolation. Available with padlock provision for safety lock-out procedures.
Electrically actuated via a gearmotor for remote operation. Suitable for applications requiring periodic operation from a control room. Includes limit switches for open/closed position feedback and manual override provision.
Air-cylinder operated for fast actuation in automated systems. Used in power plant emergency isolation and bypass applications where speed of operation is critical. Available in fail-open and fail-closed configurations.
Fabricated from heat-resistant alloy steel for applications in hot gas ducts — cement kiln exit, boiler flue gas, ESP inlet ducts. Operating temperatures up to 400°C standard; higher temperatures on request with suitable materials.
Fitted with pressurised air sealing for man-safe isolation in toxic or hazardous gas ducts. The seal air prevents any leakage past the blade during maintenance. Used in power plant air preheater and ESP isolation applications.
